 Then after I met these life saving heroes, I met a true SUPERHERO. Her name was Kathy Soliz.
Her superhero name is Kathy KoolBreeze though. That’s what I call her because she is cool under pressure. Maybe in the future, I’ll have the opportyunity to share her story, but for now I’ll just say she’s my inspiration. And y’all think y’all got problems. This young lady has seen her fair share of adversity, but as evidenced in the photo below, she’s still smiling. And more than that, she inspiring other people. Pray for her as next Wednesday, she will be getting a cord blood transplant that can save her life.

On Saturday, May 15, music artists from all different genres will come together at the Austin Baptist Association on 3811 Harmon Ave. to fundraise for Hungry for God Home, which works to redirect the lives of at-risk and homeless young men.

“Making better choices for better results” Adam Neal, a.k.a. hip hop artist SaulPaul, was arrested at the age of 16 for counterfeiting, but has since turned his life around for the better. Now, he is successful businessman, filmmaker of his autobiographical movie Tower to Tower, speaker, and author.

Neal agreed to perform at the event because he is a believer of the cause. “The boys that come to Pastor Larry Ball represent a lack in the community of leaders and mentors,” he said.

Pastor Larry Ball’s vision for the young men is to live out lifetime goals. He hopes to “[improve] their chance of success by providing mentoring, a pathway for completing education, evaluations of positive personal goals, and follow-up on outcomes.”

SaulPaul was introduced to KAA last year, when he was requested to come do what he does. By the time he left, SaulPaul was ready to return and do it again! Lucky for him, they were looking forward to his return as well. Not only did KAA want SaulPaul to return, but they requested he write the 2010 camp theme song. They knew he could do it, as he is featured weekly on ESPN Radio providing sports recaps in the form of rap.

SaulPaul wrote the song, they loved it and now it will be featured throughout the summer as KAAs theme song.

FYI: SaulPaul’s is raising $30,000 to give away 10,000 CDs to disadvantaged youth this summer. By simply downloading the song Who Da Kang, you can help SaulPaul make a difference. 100% of the proceeds from Who Da Kang downloads go directly toward the achieving the goal of raising the $30,000.
